What is the IndEX Platform?

IndEX is an intelligent matching engine that connects employers and their people with schools and colleges. Each member of your staff writes a short story about what they do for a living, IndEX AI matches that story to the UK curriculum, and educators then search for the expertise they need and send a match request. Your organisation account is the admin side of that process: it is where you manage your company profile, invite your staff and keep track of who has signed up.

How do I register my organisation?

Complete the two-step company registration form on the IndEX website. Step one covers your organisation details and main contact, and step two covers the expertise and opportunities you can offer to education providers. Your registration is then sent to the IndEX team to be verified before the account goes live.

My account is still pending - how long does approval take?

Every new organisation is checked by the IndEX team before it is activated, so there is a short wait after you register. As soon as your organisation is verified we will email you a secure link to create your password and get into your dashboard. Please keep an eye on your junk mail folder, as that is where the email sometimes lands.

How do I reset my password?

On the login page, choose the forgotten password option and enter your registered email address. We will email you a secure link to set a new password, and that link stays active for 15 minutes. If you do not use it in time, just request another one. Password reset only works on accounts that are already active, so if you are still waiting for approval, please contact us instead.

What should I put in Areas of Industry Expertise?

List the fields your organisation genuinely works in, separated by commas, for example AI, Engineering, Creative Design, Programming, Marketing, Finance. This is one of the things we use to put your organisation in front of the right schools, so it is worth keeping up to date as the business changes.

What are Employment Pipeline Opportunities for?

These tick boxes tell education providers which routes into your organisation actually exist, whether that is graduate hiring, school leaver entry routes, apprenticeships or summer internships. Schools and colleges use this to see where their students could realistically end up. If you know your apprenticeship levels, please add them in the notes field underneath.

What is the Employer Recognition section?

These two options are your permissions for how we talk about working with you. They let us know whether we can publicly acknowledge the partnership and whether we can use your logo on promotional material. Both are entirely optional, and you can change your mind at any time on your Company Profile.

How does the matching actually work?

Each member of staff describes their job in their own words, and IndEX AI matches that description against the UK curriculum to work out which subjects, key stages and key concepts they could genuinely help with. Educators search for the expertise they need and send a match request to the professional, who then approves or declines it. Match requests go to your staff rather than to you, so no engagement happens without the individual agreeing to it.

Do my staff need to commit a set number of hours?

No. Each person records the CSR or volunteering hours they have available and the kind of engagement that suits them, from inspiring students through to giving them hands-on experience. We use that to make sensible matches, and every request still has to be approved by the individual, so nobody is ever committed to something they have not agreed to.

Do I need teaching experience to take part?

No. You are not being asked to plan lessons or stand in front of a class on your own. Educators come to you for what you do in your job, and IndEX AI does the work of translating that into curriculum language. Once a match is approved, IndEX AI will also suggest a few ready-made ways you could work together, so you are never starting from a blank page.
